    Sorry, but as a fat nurse, I can tell you that none of them work. They can have weird side effects as well… Looking at the study data, you see that the most effective are the ones that "control" the hormone cortisol. However, the average weight loss attributable to just the supplement is under 4 pounds… and that’s the best you will get. This, by the way, comes from their own studies. They just make sure that’s in the really fine print…

    Supplements on their own will not do it. You also need to exercise. The key is speeding up your metabolism. You can do this by eating five to six times a day ensuring you are getting your necessary fat requirements as well as carbohydrates. But too much of those will make you fat, so you have to be careful.
    Protein shakes can replace two or three meals and will also keep your blood sugar levels up during the day. But you also need to exercise to either develop lean muscle mass or add to your lean muscle mass you have already. Lean muscle also burns calories and speeds up your metabolism which means you actually burn fat and calories when you sleep.
    Balance is the key.
